American Racing Iroc Replica Rims
I just ordered a set of discontinued American Racing Iroc rims. The old fat fives that are chrome finish. Does anyone have a set of these and can you tell me if they are good quality. Usually American Racing makes good chrome, but I don't know why they were discontinued.
Thanks

Thanks Jim! I actually have em on the car now. I am really impressed with the quality although they were expensive. Discount Tire informed they were not discontinued, you just have to know which wheel to ask for and they can be ordered.

Re: American Racing Iroc Replica Rims
How come I cant find a set of the 18" aftermarket iroc rims without chrome on them? I contacted a couple companies that sell the aftermarket chrome ones and they said it is impossible. Would I have to buy the chrome wheels and get them stripped if I wanted them bare?

This is even worse because I was planning on getting these a wheel at a time between now and next year as funds allow.
I did notice these rims are nowhere to be found on ARs site, I thought that was odd.

I contacted oasis last year, they said they only had chrome. I wanted either polished or bare machined because I wanted to paint or powdercoat the insets to look like originals. How come you can get them non chromed? That was the only reason I didn't buy those wheels..the chrome looks like it's cheap plastic.

I just got a set of Iroc Replica Rims from Summit Racing a couple of months ago. They are 16x8, 4.5 backspace. $150.00 each. I think they are ok, good quality.

How is the quality? It's a hard sell at nearly $400 a piece for chrome when the ARs are already known to be excellent quality at the expense of a different center cap...

Re: American Racing Iroc Replica Rims
For those interested, here is a picture of polished 17" IROCs to see what they look like. Granted, these are NOT Oasis wheels, but some other company Dante Designs whom I've never heard of. Pic is just for reference:

Maybe it's just me, but maybe this is the one rim on the planet that may actually look better in chrome?
In either case I just emailed Oasis to see what they would charge for an 18x8 set of polished rims with shipping so I'll update when I hear back.
EDIT: The mail failed to be delivered, citing that their address was no longer in service.

They were even willing to paint the windows on the wheels just like the stock IROCs, but unfortunately, that was going to be so expensive that I was unable to get enough interest from people on a group buy.

Re: American Racing Iroc Replica Rims
Thanks Jim, I've been trying to find a set of the 18x8 without chrome or polished so that I can paint them to look like the stock 16" IROC wheels I have. I thought it would give my car the one off look that I haven't seen before.
I thought the same thing about just asking them to set aside four rims before they polish or chrome them. I even contacted a different wheel company recently and you would have thought I accused them of being terrorists when I mentioned that!
I don't know... it seems like the aftermarket is already making more crap for the 2010/2011 Camaro than they are for us 3rd gen owners!
