Blackout Spray worked awesome!!!

Used the vht blackout spray on my taillights today and i am so very happy with it. Looks so much better then buying the taillight covers in my opinion. Although i got a little too close on one spot and it dripped, goddamnit...but oh well..still looks great.

I have a set of front turn signals that I used that stuff on (loose, not on any car). Just seeing if it was any good. It's cool stuff, but tricky to shoot.

I used the stuff on my turn side markers... well, the front ones, the rear ones are working just fine with the window tint on them. The fronts let through more light, but the rears look a little better, from about 2 feet, any closer then the sprayed ones look better then the rears, and at 8 feet you can't really tell the difference.
I am gonna use it on my T/A tail lights, gonna mask off most of the light, except that red strip at the bottom, and darken that w/ about 3 layers of spray, then unmask it and spray the entire lights w/ about two layers to darken then up a little and hopefully hide some of the minor flaws! Should look kick *** .
Later,
RS

I did this to my front turn signals and to my taillights. The fronts turned out great and look just fine when lit. I took apart the taillights and shot them from the inside. I used my old taillights as a test bed for this. On one I shot the paint on the outside - on the other, I took it apart and shot the inside of the cover. The one that I took apart looks better because the plastic still has that shiny look - I couldn't get the paint to look shiny on mine; YMMV (your milage may vary.) Anyway, on my two new ones, I took them apart to spray them. You can see a couple of pix at my site under the "Exterior" section.

Cool, glad to see you like it. I wanted black outs, but could not afford them at the time, so black out spray was it for me. I love the stuff, easy to put on and looks great.

to make em shiny give em a couple coats of clear...thatll do the trick....my family was doin this to there trucks before the spray was made....just some standard black car paint and clear...looks bad. though i like the clean look of Blackouts personally.

scauffiel - Thanks so much for the tip of taking them apart and spraying them from the inside!!! It looks so sweet!! I didn't even have to go that dark to get a good dark look on the lights because of the way there is no light really coming from the inside!! I was doing T/A tail lights.
Thanks so much, I LOVE THIS SITE!

Hybrid,
We took some clear coat and some black paint...mixed them up and put them in a spray
gun and shot the lights. Of course, it took
us about 2-3 tries to come up with the best
tint.
