The Beloved Beaters
Excited about you're new junkyard score? Gotta fixer-upper ya havn't gotten all shiny and fast yet? Just wanna show us your beloved rust-bucket? Here's the place, home to all of your cars that aren't quite ( ) showroom quality, for whatever reason. Weird stuff is also more than welcome (any off-road thirdgens? Post 'em!). Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so no flaming!
Here's mine
Obviously I've got lots of work to do in the shiny and fast departments, but right now I'm focusing on keeping it dependable and comfortable. So far so good!
P.S. This is pretty much how it looked when I got it, minus the new rear tires and the fixed up hood.

Re: The Beloved Beaters
Here's my 84. she runs like a champ, but I need to make her pretty and put in a bigger engine. I'm having her shipped to my house in west virginia at the end of next month. I have a BIG garage there and I'm gonna start stripping her down.

Re: The Beloved Beaters
Hey, finally a thread where I don't have to be embarrassed to post a picture of my car
Anyways, here she is. Had her for two years now. Outside still looks pretty much the same, but runs like a champ too and the only problem I've had was a dead alternator.

Re: The Beloved Beaters
Thank you for starting a thread for our not so nice cars. It will someday be a nice car & can fit into the "shiney" threads, but not today!
The first picture is what it looked like a year ago when I got the the car.
The pic is on 9/8/06
The second picture was taken 3/26/07.
It's came along some more since, so I will get more pics soon.

I too have been embarrassed to show any pics of my "new" aqusition! I got it on May 7th in Santa Barbara for only $700! Has issues but still runs great everyday. It's an '85 coupe with 2.8L V6 (which is fine by me) and I just finished seafoaming it this evening. Lots of smoke...we'll see how it runs tommorow on the way to work.

Here's the interior. It's a little ho-hum but comfy (minus the rock-hard head-rests).
Oh, and here's my only performance mod so far: Hint, the air filter

Re: The Beloved Beaters
Thanks for the compliment and sorry for being a bit slow to reply! The wheels came with the car when I bought it and they are nothing fancy really but I like the way they fit too. They are Eagle Alloys 15x8 with P235/60 Cooper Cobra Radials. I am not sure about the backspacing on them though.

Re: The Beloved Beaters
Here is my beater. The photos make it look pretty decent. The power of photography! I washed the car to give it a wet glossy look.
The interior has got a lot pulled out of it. I don't have carpet, headliner board and some misc. trim pieces.
It's my beater. I only drive it a couple times every few months.
It's got quite a few spots of heavy rust coming in. Mostly floor pan and doors.
Right now the roof is oxidized, the doors have rust, the front grill is busted out and the muffler/taillpipes have fallen off. (All not pictured).

Re: The Beloved Beaters
Here is my 89 trans am. I brought it back form the dead in April of 06... I found it abandoned across the street from me. It had tow away stickers on it from the city... It disappeared then, a month later it showed up in another parking lot not far from me and I bought it on the spot for 500.00. Now it has fourth gen seats and seatbelts.. alot of new parts to get it running and lots of plans for the future... It is a ws6 car with a 305tpi motor. These pics are from april of 06, shortly after I bought it.
