Your gonna tear up floorpans and any other thin metal with an arch. You need a mig with gas and not the flux core. .023 or 0.25 wire. I could be wrong though I'm new to welding.

Those guys are right... a cheap little MIG will work. Ide use .023 wire...NOT FLUX CORE. Make sure the welder is set up for gas (75% CO, 25% Ar)...it will weld a ton better.
Now...I have a question for you. Where did you get a 5 piece floor pan kit? Im sure Im not the only one that is curious about that.... Is it actually made for thirdgens? Formed to fit and all?

being a noob that has never welded and looking to undertake this same type of project; why do you say to not use gasless flux core wire? and , where the heck do ya find wire smaller than .030? I'm also looking to do both sides complete, would it be a good idea to cut the pans in 1/2 and put them in as quarters..to make them easier to work with? Seems like it'd be a pain trying to get a whole side to sit in place and reach through the door to weld it.
