I plan on installing them this winter. I'll post the progress and any tips here.
Please take a billion pictures. I too am going to go with these but I am still some time away. I was hoping i'd be the first... Can't wait to see them.
At this point in my build, thats considered cheap!
I have not put my pos together for free either over the years either but, still.. something like that (doorhandles) for the price, still makes me say 'wow'....
Maybe it because the same crowd here wouldn't pay half that for a pair of drop spindles or otherwise more complex (essential) items to reproduce.......

Most of those guys aren't here anymore. ....the group we have here now is a lot different. ...to me personally, I wouldn't pay $600 for door handles, but I've put stupid money in other parts that many people would think is crazy. Just the price of doing business in the world of hotrodding!
I may be the king of spending stupid money. The RB hood hinges cost me more, and the brake system was 10X that. Not to mention the suspension and power train. I haven’t even started the body, interior, or wheels and tires. I need to stop thinking about it, my head hurts and my wife may see this......naw, she never visits this site.
I shaved mine completely on 3 of my cars, including my latest. I’ve had so many issues with door poppers in the past that I almost didn’t do it this time. If you follow the link in my sig, you can see how I mounted the solenoids this time around in hopes of better reliability. If I were to do it again (God, please don’t make me do it again), I would probably go the route of this style door handle. Flush mounted so they almost disappear, with the reliability of a real door handle.

this is exactly why I installed the kindigit handles on my car. i like opening the door using a handle and didn't want to deal with poppers. i did shave off the lock cylinders though so i'm planning to install a viper 412V keyless entry system to operate the factory power locks. i'll only be driving the car to cruises / shows so I really don't need locks, but better to have that option just in case.

Haha.. I'm not giving anyone s--- about what they spend on thier car... we all p-ss away good money on a bad habit (with these cars). I was just a bit shocked on the price for all you get and the work needed to install them (I watched the one 'good' install vid where the dude dropped the chevell door... )
I believe its known I'm not against getting rid of the 1970 recycled to every GM car made to 1992 garbage door handles.
I'm certainly interested in seeing them installed despite how my cheap -ss feels about the cost
there’s some pics in my build thread HERE. car is painted now but I still have to bend up rods to work the handles. we had to install the handles backwards to work properly. the hinge side is located towards the rear of the car so the front of the handle pops out to open the door
I apologize for the delay, I have begun the installation of the door handles.
This was a days work for the passenger door. These handles just fit between the support structure behind the skin and very difficult to get a dolly inside in order to planish the welds. There is more to come, cut the handle recess, weld the frame to the skin, and reassemble the handles. I’ll post the end result soon.
Looks good. Is your plan to shave the doors and then cut in the handles?
Yes, the upper seam that was left unfinished is the upper cut line for the handle. I was surprised how quickly I got to this point, and should take another day to complete one side. I hope the other side goes a little easier since I have some experience now.

Excellent, and thanks for the detailed pics. Before I paint my car I would like to fab these in. No pressure.....
The actuator rod needed to be shortened. I bent a 90* angle where it was needed and cut off the excess. I also reused the plastic clip from the original handle. That was the easiest part of the whole project. Reassembling the handle inside the door is a real pain (literally). Getting a dolly inside the door and planish the welds is also extremely difficult. This is not a job for a novice on one of these cars. Overall, I am really happy with the results and the latch release is much smoother.
Here is a comparison of the actuator rods. The left one is the original and the the right one was modified. A reminder, they are mirrored, so the upper 90* is opposite.
Cool thread. Agreed, nice to see it wrapped up.
Personally for my car, I want to go full shaved. These are not my cup of tea, but very happy to see others spending real money on cool mods!
I am going to run a hidden manual override to a cable driven lever under the car in case the poppers fail on my setup.
Thanks again for following up with the painted pictures!
Making a lot of progress on your car lately. Coming together nicely. Looks awesome! Thanks for sharing the finished pictures.
I decided in January that I was going to finish this project by summer. I have a few surprises yet to reveal, but I will be showing those in my build thread. Thank you for the kind words and I hope to be seeing your project completed soon. I’ve been following your thread for awhile and it looks amazing.
