I have an Autopage alarm in mine. I don't remember exactly how much it cost but somewhere in the $200-$250.00 range. It will page your remote if the car is disturbed.
I've had this alarm ever since my radio was stolen and the center console was destroyed in the process, about 6 months and I have no complaints so far.

Try Code Alarm. You can also run the power windows from the alarm remote.

It all depends on what you want to get. You want JUST security? Want Keyless Entry? Remote Start?
Viper, for example, is going to be one of the top names out there. They back their products with a lifetime warranty. Zillions of brands make Keyless setups, but there are dozens of those brands that are pretty lame and will cause problems months after install.

Mine is an Avital A4400, I love it. It tells me how they are getting in, through a door, the hatch, or if a shock sensor is going off, like a broken window or something. I recommend it.

Any more details on the Viper? How much? Does it work with the VATS system well? How good is the keyless system?

i have a viper 5000 2-way LCD system and i got door actuators installed in both doors for $420 (with tax) and yes it works wit the VAT.i can open my car and lock my car and get a digital page showing whats wrong whether it be: 1. sensor 2. Door open 3. Glass shatter 4. tilt sensor(jacked up ) 5. MOtion sensor (T-Top models if ur parked and someone puts hand inside.
the tilt sensor, blass break sensor and glass shater sensor are extra but these alarms are sick u can also get a extra batt. and siren (if someone cuts ur alarm to bettery cable it will send a signal to a hidden alarm and it will go off again its a seperate unit for like 100 bucks more; good stuff

Not to still a thread, but I heard there is a system for T-tops as well. They say you can leave them off, when someone sticks there hand through the top, a sesor activates the alarms. I would like to have such a thing. Anyone know what I am talking about?

no but if you leave your t tops on and set your alarm (unless your not talking like 3 hours away from car like run into a store or something) then i could undertsnad that but to leave it off set the alarm and just leave the car there for more then 20 mins sounds like a dumb idea even tho they can be a pain in the *** to put on and take off

Another vote for Viper/DEI products. DEI makes a lot of different names. I have a Viper 300 (i think, dont remember), and it is loud as hell.

Sounds exactly like me, about the same time period and everything.. maybe a little less, although my auto page alarm was $483.51 professionally installed.

I have a viper in mine with the remote start. It has the spread spectrum technology and it also pages the remote if your in range if someone is tampering with your car. If I bought another one though I would get the Clifford alarm both alarms are made by DEI but with the Clifford you can adjust the shock sensor right from the remote.

No, I'm not worried about it, I just think that was a good idea to whoever came up with it. I am just taying, you wanna run into a store real quick to get some milk and cereal, just set the alarm and run it.

Viper 791xv, alarm w/2 way pager - remote start. Can be had for about $150-175.00. I put it on my car, and it paid for itself in a few weeks after someone backed into my car while i was in a building. I ran out to find them starting to leave, but I caught them. Love the system.

I have a quick question. Say I do want an alarm and I would like keyless entry and stuff. Does your car already have to be auto locks and windows and stuff. Mine is all manual. Am I limited to what I can get?

No, you can add aftermarket actuators that will work with the alarms remote and it's not that more expensive.
