lowering springs
i need some help on this. Will eibach sportline springs work ok a convertible? Also i just bought 4'inch cat back exhaust so will it even work?

Springs and Exhaust.
The springs will work fine.
The exhaust should work fine also. I am running a 3" Banks catback and I don't recall any fitment problems even with the subframe connectors.

Any particular reason on why you want to go with the sportlines over the pro-kit? When I lived in Santa Barbara (about 10 years ago) I remember many of the streets not being very sportline friendly. The springs in my 'vert right now have roughly the same drop as the pro-kit, and I still have to take it easy on certain streets/dips/speed bumps, etc. The sportlines have even more of a drop. Just my

yeah i am going to go with the pro kit. I talked to the tech at ebiach and he said that it would drop the car 2 inches. do you guys know where the cheapiest place to buy them? i appreciate the help too.

There is a place here in Los Angeles that used to sell them on ebay for a very reasonable price, but once you factored in shipping, it became only a reasonable price. Do an ebay search for eibach and see what turns up- I'm guessing most places retail these for around $220-240.
Also, try ASI in El Cajon, CA. They are on the web at: www.shox.com
As far as shops local to you, I'm not sure what is up that way nowadays. There used to be a place on East Haley St. called Swift Auto Parts that specialized in VW and Euro parts, but I'm not sure if it is still there. If it is, Teddy (owner) can pretty much order anything and is a helluva nice guy (unless you question his knowledge!) . He could recite part numbers off the top of his head for practically any VW made like he was reading straight out of the book!

how is the ride quality on those spirngs, also do use this car as a daily driver. do you scrape much?

I drive the car daily, but mostly highway
the ride is awsome as long as the road is as smooth as glass
any little bump might as well not have springs,
I shaved the bumpstops down about a 1/2 inch and retapered them
that improved the ride alot, before I had maybe 1/2 inch of travel til i hit the stop, now about an inch and only hit the stops on big bumps
If I have 2 people in the back seat it rides on the bumpstops
but I got a system in the trunk that weighs a far bit
i considered shaving the stops more but got scared the shocks would bottom out and start pounding on the body
its not bad for scraping as long as I'm careful, steep parking lot entrances and speed bumps can be killer just got to go real slow
Plus side of things it handles unbelivably compared to stock
and its has the sweetest stance make the car one of the sexiest things on wheel
long story short is it worth it, yes, only one thing I'd change

I bought a set of pro's for an 88RS convertible but sold the car before I installed them. My neighbor bought the car and put them on along with adaptors to mount C5 vette wheels. It looked awesome. The question I have is even though it is an improvement over the stock suspension how much lower or stiffer is it over the IROC suspension-is it worth the money?

and my car handles way better than my stock Iroc springs
my car came down about 2" in the front and just under 2" in the rear

I put dropzones on mine about a year ago 1.75" drop all the way around 100 bucks on ebay. Take bumps at an angle and, keep the front nose clean.

I love the lowered look, and frankly, its a vert, a piece of art anyway.
I have a 91 but I do not have the 91 rims. I am thinking of going large, 18's or even 20's. Will I have any problems lowering my car with the larger wheels.
Any suggestions on wheels would be appreciated, I like the IROC look and they make an IROC style wheel in an 18 and 20! Have any of you seen anything like it?

The 18" IROC's look dead sexy on a vert IMO. I think 20's might be a tad much though...

The 18's look great on the Z28. Mine is just being painted black (original color) and will be very similar to the one pictured. Joel, do you know how much that vehicle is lowered and if there were any "fitment" (who invented that word) problems?
