Tuner Pro RT compare corrupted ?

If I open a bin file it reads normally , but if I put the same bin in compare it reads gibberish ... and , if I open ARAP using 6E I get an error message saying mismatched ADS and XDF file ?? Did I do something wrong ?? Can this be fixed ?

not sure what is happening there. Comparing the same file to itself should return a blank listing.

This is easily corrected by editing the XDF header info.
There is a selection box for chosing the corresponding logging definition file (ADS file)
This allows you to use the data tracing feature by linking editor items in the XDF to the datalogging items to display current ALDL values as you edit.
Open the XDF editor and edit the Header info. Select the tab to browse for the correct ADS file you are using.
Save.
No more mismatched message.

I believe the Beta version has a preference check box to turn the feature on/off. (Yep, last tab in pref box)

Well , it doesn't matter what bin is in the edit position ... any bin in compare reads gibberish and reads out fine in edit ... so now I can't do any compares ...

Check your Table Editor Options under Tools...Preferenceces...General Tab.
Set compare mode to Absolute to see the actual values in the bin that is being compared.

You may be viewing the difference (thinking its gibberisih) if Compare Mode is set to Diff. (Edit - Compare).

Re: Tuner Pro RT compare corrupted ?

The diff tool also reads out in hex (not decimal) values.
That may be what is confusing you.

This only shows there IS a difference.
To see the actual calculated value difference, you need to open the item for editing.

Re: Tuner Pro RT compare corrupted ?

There was an issue with the new builds with it crashing when doing comparisons. It is supposed to be fixed in the next release. I already emailed Mark about it a while ago.

Re: Tuner Pro RT compare corrupted ?

The crash when comparing differently-sized bins is fixed in the current build. If the problem described in this thread persists, please email me the XDF file and the primary and compare bins along with some repro steps and I'll take a look.
