Anyone wanna take a guess on this one?
Was just wondering if and what this plugs into. It's runs right above the aldl port under the dash, has a pink wire/black wire and a purple wire. I was looking for a short to find out why my ACC fuse keeps blowing and ran acrossed it just hanging down, don't think it's related with the fuse blowing but just wondering what it is.

No...Cruise doesn't work..... I pulled the fuse box down and noticed the orange wire goes into the ACC port, that's why i figured they weren't related. If that is for the cruise control, what does it plug into to? I'll be darn if i can find where it plugs into, i musta looked for a half hour and couldn't find where it went, besides it can only stretch so far. My cigarette lighter, power hatch, locks, mirrors and dome light don't work. I checked all the wiring to the mirrors, door locks and hatch...all seems to be clean.

my guess is the brake switch. auto trans? purple wire goes to the tcc, i think... brake switch is kinda hard to see up under the dash cuz a lot of stuff in front of it.

i don't know if gm makes harnesses specifically for the manual and auto trans cars, but that's what that is for. so my second guess would be that it was integrated in to the harness anyways. it controls the tcc switch in an auto trans and is not used for a manual trans. so, it's just there kinda hangin' out...

I think clutch or cruise plug. My 82 had the wiring for an automatic, so when I went from 4 speed to auto, I just had to plug the plug into the shifter and I had reverse lights and all.....

no, there are at least two different types of wiring harnesses: auto and manual. for one, manual cars dont come with the plug that goes into the 700R.
not really related, but just proving im not making stuff up: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=299156

David, the simplest way to do this is to trace the purple wire and see if it goes to pin "E7" of the bulkhead (C100) connector on the driver side. If it does then it is for the TCC, if it doesn't then let us know.
BTW SaintedCorrupt, some models of the camaros and firebirds were designed to come with either the manual or automatic transmissions. On those models wiring was included in the harness to handle both transmissions. If you wish to put a manual transmission into a car that originally was not designed for it then yes you would have to re-wire the car to accommodate it.
