Just when you thot maybe the govt was correct when they told you R12 is evil and R134 is good, R134 will be banned for, yet again, a different refrigerant.

R1234yf.

R1234yf is flammable.

If your system springs a leak, hey you always thot flames might look good on your car.

A 16oz can of R134 costs about $7

A 16oz can of R1234yf costs about $90

So you might want to stock up on R134 now.

If you extrapolate, the next govt refrigerant choice will be at least $1,100 a can.

If you knew all of the above, that's good at least you didn't fall off you chair.
if a mod can move the above to Cooling..........

You can't make new devices that use R-134a but there's no ban on the manufacture or import of it. Keep using it.

Take a look at R152a as replacement for R12.
