Car: 1987 formula
Engine: 305 tpi
Transmission: t5
Axle/Gears: 3.45
tired of tpi, 2 stroke plan?
I haven't had my car on the road for 2 years now and im tired of all the problems I saw someone with a 2 stroke v8 boat engine in there dune buggy and was wondering what tranny would you use? Im not experienced with 2 strokes but having any wisdom is great.

You are very LIGHT on info.
Was it a 2 stroke V8 from a outboard motor ?
A outboard motor is completely different to a "boat" motor ;this is what a proper 2 stroke V8 boat engine looks like

If being tired of TPI issues is the problem, an LT1 or LS1 swap would seem to me to be the more sane solution.

People DO use 2 stroke outboard powerheads as motors for dune buggies. However dune buggies use VW transmissions and they have adapter plates to nearly fit ANYTHING. Since a VW is a REAR motor car, its essentially a front wheel drive transmission flipped around backwards. And to my knowledge the never have and never will make a front wheel drive Camaro/Firebird.
