MagnaFlow vs Flowmaster vs Borla vs Any Other Exhaust Brand

My brother and i are gonna add a new exhuast system in his 92 350. Seems like the most popular choices are Magnaflows, flowmaster or BORLAS. So you guys can be the judges on this... What do u think sounds, looks and performs better? Just doesnt have to be flowmasters and Magnaflows..

I already had the Flowmaster, it didn't really have a distinct sound to it...and I hated it. It sounded like , well.. nothing. Its quite hard to explain actually.

I recently put on a 3" Hooker Aerochamber catback and will never look back. And you can't beat the price for the flow and sound that it offers. Although I think the magnaflow & Banks setups look very nice!

Hooker aerochamber is really nice like 335 said....and then Magnaflows are great for performance. I have only ever heard them on a 4th gen. the sound great as well. but for all i know the perform way better than slowmasters

I usually hear that FLOWMASTERS sound much better then Magnaflows, but Magnaflows perform way better. Also i heard on this board that FlowMasters lose HP, is this true?????

no, just about any muffler will be better than stock. Sound is pure opinion. IMO flowmaster sounds the best.

I used to have the Flowmaster system it sounded pretty good but I have recently replaced it with the Gale Banks system. I'm very happy with the Banks system. It is stainless like the Borla setup but cost less then Flowmaster. You get the best of both worls with it. The Banks system used to cost more then Borla when it came out in the 80's but you can get it for around $250 now. www.bankspower.com

well I am a bit biased. I as I age I only like to do things once so I pretty much only use stainless exhuast aymore. IT is so nice to never see rusty exhaust.

I have really come to like the sound of borla exhuast. that being said thier thirdgen choices are so so. thier kit is kind of weak. I don't like the ajustable system even though the sound is nice. I hated the fact that the center pipe was not full lenght so to so full stainless the kit requierd custom work. they do have a tailpipe section as well that is crossflow design I have seen them on ebay for $250 but never heard it. I have thoughabout putting an xr-1 up where the cat is supposed to go. I have heard xr-1's on a 99+ mustang and it sounded awesome. I have the regular borla on my mustang I love the sound. I am not a big fan of the "quad" tip look. I like two pipes flush with the rear. that of course is just me. the got rid of the ajustable kit on my 88 and put flowmaster on and just kicked myself in butt after doing so. I wanted louder and it was but it was just that "loud" the borla just sounded better IMO.

Magnaflow makes a kit fot eh 98-02 f-body's that is not a crossflow and sounds pretty mean they have a clip on their site. I think I am going to retrofit this kit to my car. full stainless kit for $400 and sounds better than the banks IMO. they also have a kit for the 93-97 ($300) that uses a crossflow muffler does not sound as good as the one I posted above IMO. too me bottom line normal muffler usually sounds better than crossflow.

banks if you like the sound the best priced direct bolt in kit for the 3rdgen. I like the magnaflow better so I am going with it. when putting on exhasut sound is everything you have to like what you hear.

Flowmaster has a great following due to the sound. does not flow as well as most other muffler. the most popular muffer hence you hear them on ever other car. Claim to be classic american muscle yet have not been around long enough to be classic at all. aluminized. they do make just stainless mufflers now. I quit using them just do to the fact they get outflowed and they did not use to make stainless. that being said 80 people will post in how much they love thier flowmasters. if you live anywhere near salt air or where they salt road stay clear of rustmaster.

I like borla, bassani, magnaflow as far as sound.

I just got done with mine. I went with a 2 1/2" IMCO. It looks good now and went on without a hitch. It is nice and mellow at idle, but a little raspy when getting into the throttle. Removing the cat (just today) played a big part in that.

I like my x-pipe setup with dual bullet mufflers. Its got a deep sound that I was looking for. Its not to loud like most people think and I 'm surprised about that considering my motor is built pretty good.

I like Maganflows. THey dont sound too loud (not a Cop Magnet) But they have a nice flow sound when you push the pedal. Plus i love Maganflows looks the best. Borlas kinda look ugly (imo) but they still sound great
