best full exaust for my supercharged l98 dual cat 91 t/a
ok guys, so im supercharging my 91 trans am, but i was wondering what exaust setup would work best. these are the conditions i must follow:
-i HAVE to keep all my smog equipment
-it's a dual cat setup, so should i stay in that route
-this can't be any fancy crazy $2000 dollar custom s*** either
so what are my best options, i heard a lot of good things about mufflex's spintech cat-back, but i only saw it in 3.5", so do i really need that.
thanks guys, i know you'll steer me in the right direction.

no, im not trying to be a **** or anything, but c'mon man, seriously, i got 25 views without one single person replying, what gives you know. and the icing on the cake was that i actually got a reply on a mustang techboard before i got one here. so seriously, whats the deal ya know.
so no, im not trying to be rude, but at the same time, this happens almost every time i make a thread here. im just getting a little irritated, thats all.

Sorry, but maybe unlike the "other guys" most of the people on here dont sit and stare at web forums all day hitting "refresh" over and over again waiting for something new to come up. You have to give at least 1 day for a response, you are being flat out impatient and making a fool of yourself. You're pretty good at being a ****, especially if you "are not trying to" and still manage to come across the way you did.
"25 views without a single responce" Do you know how many people view these forums? Do you realize that probably less than 1% of them are qualified to answer your questions? Do you really want some assclown who doesnt know what he's talking about chiming in with some false information? I would rather have one solid responce in 24 hrs than a bunch of 14 yr olds spewing crap the first 3 hrs after I make a post. Go down the line of posts. Compare the average number of replys with the number of views and see for yourself.
You should grow up a bit and think about what you say before you start shooting off and making blatant attacks at this entire community. I for one, was pretty offended because I know how much time and help is given up by so many people here for nothing in return. I've been helped tons by many amazing people on here and when I see people like you say things like that I dont take lightly to it.

your right man, i understant completely, lol, im just used to corral.net and stangnet where responces take less then ten minutes.
it also kinda ticked me off that nobody responds until i get flustered and say something about it... then the responces start to come in.
so yes, i understand youre side of the yard, and do respect it, however, im sure the three people who have made responces tp this thread would have had SOME kind of input... i dunno, just a long day i guess...
and to answer the last responce, i was told to go with edelbrock tes, or some slp shorty headers with just the stock dual-cat mid-pipe (but with high flow cats), and pretty much any 3" cat-back system accept for flowmaster lol (spintech was his first reccomendation though)

Well, here is what I think.
If no emissions, then my responce would be this:
Hooker LTR
Mufflex Y-Pipe
Mufflex Cat-back (4-inch)
If you do have emissions and you have a visual inspection:
SLP or some 1 3/4 primary shorties
High flow or cats with a pipe through them
Custom y-pipe after the cats
Mufflex Cat-Back (4 inch)
Now, I'm a little biased when it comes to the Mufflex system for obvious reasons. Now the reason that I suggest that you go with the 4 inch is because of the current mods that you have. Since your putting a supercharger on the car your going to need flow. This setup will give you that flow your looking for. Plus the when the time comes to replace the motor due to what ever reasons, you will not have to upgrade your current setup to meet the demands of a new motor. See what I'm getting at? What you need to do is look at the big picture. Now if your not going to upgrade the motor then you could probably get away with the 3.5 system. Price wise I beleive they are the same so why not upgrade. Plus I don't care how much you say your not going to upgrade, eventually your gonna want more power.
Last, please remember that you need to have a little patience. What most of the guys above have already said is true but in my opinion, taking the advice of someone who chimes in 10 minutes or even 24 hours later is not wise. Since your probably looking at spending about 1k in parts you should really take your time. Hell, the setup that I suggested may not even be the best but at least it gives you an idea of what you will be needing.
Good luck and hopefully that helps ya a little bit.

What muffler did you pick for the Mufflex 4"? I am trying to get some ideas for my '91 Formula stroker project. Mufflex offers several choices on the muffler - I do not want to get pulled over for noise here in California! DOH- I see you picked the Flowmaster. What does everyone think of the other mufflers offered like the Spintech?

Were all pathetic? Searching didn't directly answer your question? There is a sticky showing what headers are better than the others. Some reading would have also shown you a 3" is fine unless you're making some serious horsepower. And High flow cats are a no brainer if you're doing a full exhaust.
