Header question
Is anyone else running edelbrock TES headers on their ride? I am looking to hear from someone that has the AIR tubes on top of the primaries that do not have the AIR system hooked up. I want to know if you have any chirping or squeeking noises from them. Please let me know if you have any problems or none at all.

I would figure that if you capped them off and they didnt leak, then you wouldnt have any problems with noises.

I have capped them off. It sounds like it's coming from the y pipe. Like there is a piece of metal that is hanging in the path of the exhaust. As it rushes by it makes this god awful noise around 1000 to 1800 RPM's. I just need to make sure that it is not the air tubes before I send them back to Jegs for my replacements.

I have the Edelbrock TES headers with AIR tubes and they don't whistl or anything. I also have removed the valve portion of the EFE.

I had to look at the book and remember what EFE stood for. Early Fuel Evaporative system is an emission system, a vacuum-controlled valve just after the exhaust manifold. My LG4 came with one on the drivers side. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, when the engine is cold started, its closed (because of a vacuum thermostat) and forces some of the exhaust through the heads and intake manifold to heat up the carb quicker.
My AIR tubes aren't capped off, they have new check valves just no tubes hooked up as of yet. I guess you could temporarily take off the Ypipe to see if it goes away?

I got the edelbrock headers the AIR fittings were welded shut so obviously they wont make any noise. Your problem may even be a gasket intead of the y-pipe. Just my .2
