Anyone runnin Hedman LT Headers #68460?
I just put my hedman long tubes in last night, and I dont want to run my car on open headers cuz I dont wanna be replacing exhaust valves already. I wanted to see what you guys thought would be the best route from there on back. I have never done any exhaust fabrication, and I really hate paying a shop to fab a y or h-pipe for me.. but I cant find anyone that makes a y-pipe for hedman lt's, and the mufflex one for hookers 2210's is ridiculously expensive imo... any advice would be greatly appreciated

You will have to fabricate a y-pipe or some type of dual setup for the Hedman LT's. I've ran both a y-pipe and dual setup with those headers, it can be done but if you don't weld I'd take it to a shop. I wouldn't worry about hurting valves with open headers unless its extremly cold outside. Only problem you will have is annoying the neighbors...or getting pulled over. Heres a couple of posts by mw66nova, showing how he did his exhaust.

I used the Hedman S bends and came straight back into a set of Chambered tube mufflers, added an H pipe at the end of the S bends and installed dumps, job done.

working on installing the same headers on my 92, got a universal adjustable h-pipe assembly from jegs for under $40 bucks. will require some welding tho.

simple:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/exha...ighlight=68460
this is how im doing it on my 82 t/a this spring or sooner finally
real simple and easy
i will buy pipe locally and i already have a pair of LT's
just need to order the s curves pair and get mufflers and im ready to go
so far ive spent zero dollars cuz i got the headers for free,
the mufflers will be about 65 bucks
im getting force pro series mufflers from jegs which are a 32 dollar flowmaster
mw66nova has the best and most simple exhaust setup that ive seen so far, the Summit S-curve pieces are SO much better than playing the pipe-bending game, IMHO and are what i am using under my ride
ive opted to not go with an H-pipe though
but i may change that at a later date possibly
and will eventually change to coated headers too
good luck
