Re: 700 MILE 1989 TRANS AM TURBO

The miles are from the trips to and from the tire dealer and the smog check place. The bolsters however, show 30 years of sitting in it and revving it.

Re: 700 MILE 1989 TRANS AM TURBO

Those speedometers were so easily disconnected - I could do mine sitting on the side of a highway ramp in less than 2 minutes...in a suit...and did.

I really think this verbiage is getting more common, Its coming from the live broadcast auctions quite a bit now too. My guess is there have been too many cases of misrepresented miles on cars & they have to start leaving it up to the buyer & sellers to to help clear them of deceive & believe. When money is involved you just can't trust all that many people.

We have all seen the cars that have questionable miles & some that have laughable claims of low milage. This car looks pretty darn nice, but when you get into subsonic milage, under chassis & suspension picts would help a lot.

Re: 700 MILE 1989 TRANS AM TURBO

I agree with Purely PMD, these speedometers are so easy to alter I wouldn't trust any claim like this of rediculously low miles. I've repaired my odo and speedo twice over my car's 27 years and I was easily able to put the miles to show whatever I wanted. In my case I wanted the correct miles to show even though it is now 160K.

Re: 700 MILE 1989 TRANS AM TURBO

They say believed to be because the seller says it is the right miles but the auction company doesnt want to be liable if it isnt so they say belived to be that clears them.

Oh, another super low mile TTA... better be perfect, because it seems like there's always a handful of these to choose from.
