So I was in Wal-Mart browsing at the crap I'd never buy in the seat cover aisle, when I came accross this cupholder. It goes between the seat and the center console, doesn't look that bad either. I think it's called the wedgie or something. It cost me like 5 bucks or something and I can finally drink a cup of coffee and shift at the same time!!! Just thought I'd share the find!

Extremely close to what I have. Works great huh? BTW... You could definately paint it if you wanted to, black is just fine with me though.

Also, the center part holds two packs of cigarettes perfectly and a lighter in the little dimple area, the bottom recess holds a small cup of coffee tightly (12 oz) and it looks as if it might even hold a king size burger king cup! In case you didn't notice, I've been testing it out.

E brake still works if you flip it around and wedge it in (flat part towards the console). It sacrifices a little passenger side room, but the thing also pulls right out effortlessly so no big deal.

Factory cupholders work ok for me for right now. The car is getting a 4th gen console shortly so its kind of a moot point.

But, thats a pretty good find! I have always looked while at wal mart but never could find anything like that.

Do people still use those!? I honestly don't think I've ever used one in 28 years of driving 47 different vehicles.

I like mine Gordiggz. When I'm driving around, I get thirsty. This is a sturdy unit and it will hold a mega drink. Just to be a smartaz , I don't use the EB while driving and I move the cup holder to driver's side when I use the EB

yea, any manuals will have to use the EB, but then again, with a manual, you could just leave it in gear and it would work just as well. but i have an auto, and i still use it once in a while. believe it or not it has stopped someone from driving my car, because they didn't know how to release the EB.

True, but not just as well. On steeper hills (roughly 5deg+) and driveways you can not rely on engine compression to hold your ride. It can start to creep and on bigger hills, it will roll. Please don't try just leaving it in gear and walking away. You might find your ride in the neighbours yard! I always use both, in 1st & e-brake. Never quite relying one only just one or the other.

Regarding the cupholder, for the few $$$ it costs, I think I'll pick one up and try it.

learned this the hard way. My first manual was when I was 17, and it was a rusty s-10. The parking brake cable was broke but my drive was flat, so I just stuck it in gear. Then I went to my buddies and parked on his 7% grade drive and just put the truck into reverse to lock it in place..... only it just helped the cause and his neighboor came over and asked if I would move the truck from the middle of the street as it was blocking the road, worst part was, his house sits over 1800ft from the road, amazingly it only wnet down the drive and stopped when it hit the pavement.

LESSON LEARNED!!!

Your guess is as good as mine TF34MECHH. It looks factory. Same material as console, perfectly centered, and doesn't seem to pop out. I thought this was normal, but now you got me thinking I'm special .

BTW, good to hear you like the cup holder. Not bad for a few bucks and no drilling required.

ya i bought one of these cup holders awhile back maybe 3 years when i first got my ta n they are honestly not that good atleast for firebirds/tas IMO i thought it was a waste of five bucks damn thing was moving all over and also but not judging considering i use tobacco to is you should never smoke in a car that jus ruins the interior you worked so hard to get nice

As Will Smith said "I'm gonna have to get me one of these". When I first bought my ride I smoked and could steer, drink, smoke and shift effortlessly. Probably stupid but you gotta do . . . The tangent on the EB was funny. I use it every time I park; manual or auto. 'Course in SF I used them while driving the Beetle I was in (scarry for this Fla. boy).

Iroctopless continues to surprise me. I would think that that he would need huggies on the cans to keep them from freezing. I use huggies to keep mine from boiling.

Topless, if you are a bourbon whiskey man (somehow I think of you as scotch), I have a brand for you "20 year old "Pappy Van Winkle".

Never tried that before (but I'm always willing to try something new!).
I like the huggies idea.

Would be nice to mount something in front of the AC ducts.

PS; although I wouldn't be cutting or modifying anything.

The winkle.... I work among one of the largest bourbon selections in western NY, the 20 yr. is awesome. Also, My ebrake handle works just fine up and down without ever moving the cupholder.
