4th gen power.seat 12v source

So I've seen a bunch of guys tap into the cigarette lighter for power going to 4th gen driver seat.

But i already ran a wire under the carpet into the wire channel and up to the fuse block. I have a few empty spots labeled "assy" and "batt" that i thought would be a home run....in either spot, the chair will work for a few, then pop the 10a or 15a fuse for either the radio or gauges.

Any suggestions?

Most abused circuit in the history of cars.

Dismount the fuse box so you can get a look at the back side. Choose an empty fuse slot that has a big wire going to it.

Post #310 shows how I did it in my car. Please don't reply to that thread and keep the conversation here.

IIRC, that circuit in a 4th gen is fused at 30 amps. You'll need to provide that much current---and it's associated appropriate heavy gauge of wire---for the seat(s) to function.

Why can't the power seat be plugged into where it's supposed to go?behind the kick panel next to the hood release. That's a 30 amp outlet

Didnt know it was there.

Most of the threads i found only mentioned tapping the cigarette lighter which I didn't want to do.

Next chance I get, im tapping that spot!

You really should use a circuit breaker not a fuse. ( that little silver can thing)
