ok ive been working on my car for about three years now. i have completely rebuilt the rear end, with '96 rear discs, re-wired entire car, installed all auto meter guages, and finishing up with a lq4 motor with ported heads, dual exhaust, carb swap, and th350 race trans. i will be posting more pics soon, but here is a few to start.
ok some more pics. one problem with this swap is the accessories. well, since this is going to be mostly a track car, i am only running a water pump and alt.
i used the stock lq4 water pump, hoses for a 4.8/5.3/6.0 silverado, with the lower hose sectioned with the stock camaro hose. the upper hose is sectioned only to install a cap, scince it is now higher than the radiator cap.
i then made brackets to use the stock 1991 camaro alternator, which the stock pulley matches the others. anyway, heres some pics
one little snag i hit when installing is obviosly the deep truck oil pan. i bought a moroso oil pan, which is the steel version. there are two verisons out now, but if you get the first version, the truck windage tray, which is full length, fits. i only had to cut a little clearance around the pickup mount for the new pickup. i know the new version is shallower to work with 4th gen f-cars, but the older version fits our cars just fine
the exhaust idea came to me from combining two systems on this site. basically i used two generic over the axle tailpipes to go around the spohn crossmember, into an x , dual pipes and a dual in, dual out muffler on the pass. side. if i would have paid a bit more attention, i think i could get a bigger muffler in there. the lowest point is where it crosses form the driver side, due to the sfc and crossmember both being in the way. it gues up via 45 angles to the stock f body manifolds. took about one weekend and a couple of days afer work to tack/cut/fit .
ok, here is some more pics. these are some mor on the alt. brackets, and how i routed the belt, and a shot of how i did my fuel cell and battery box. i have to get a sheetmetal box fabbed up to cover the cell, and ive got to finish up the interior.

pics of shifter, trans cooler, and under car showing fuel system, rear end, torque arm, etc. with the hooker mounts, the motor bolts in exactly where a gen 1 block would. this allowed me to use the spohn torque arm/ crossmember for a th350 swap. the motor came from a truck with a 4l80 trans, so it had the correct spacer and th400 bolt pattern; so all i needed was a converter with the dual th350/400 bolt pattern. i think this was a pretty easy swap, as everything literally bolted together.
look like blue ones to me . just a joke . check jegs & summit , you can get most any color you want . i like MSD , think they only come in red . i am sure many companies make different colors . good luck .
the wires are taylor units. theay are 10 mm core dual insulated. i figured when i get headers, im gonna need the extra heat protection. i think they were around $70 when i bought them

Hmmmm... I might just "borrow" that idea when I do my own exhaust... (It's gotta be easier than the hack/chop/weld thing I was thinking I'd have to do!)
