Feeling stupid right now, 1991 Z28 L98, almost hit 240deg

Hey guys so long story short my cars previous owners hard wired the dual cooling fans to 2 toggle switches which after this stunt I'm gonna fix an rewire back to the car.

I just had a similar issue with my 1989 C1500 Silverado with TBI and a 350. What it would do is not idle, you would have to hold the accelerator down to keep it running but
it would run very rough....

When these engines were new General Motors actually said put 5w-30 in them due to efficiency an all that stuff but if you look in the service manual it actually says if you live in a warmer climate...

What I would suggest is use 10w-30 Mobil one full synthetic. Orrrr you could also use the Mobil super 5000 high mileage synthetic blend to combat the puff.
