For comparison, I think a stock LG4 305 single fan has a 195 thermostat and the fan switch grounds at 230 or so and shuts off at 205-215. I'm 99% sure that 200-230 is a perfectly acceptable...

Looks like the coolant temp sender for the gauge, except that the threaded section from the picture looks too small to fit. Check the driver's side head between plugs 1 & 3, otherwise I'm not sure.
