Check the grounds from the battery to the chassis and, engine. I had a similar issue and, the grounds were filthy and, one was loose. In my 87 5.7 the grounds run down to the chassis on the passenger...

Yeah, there is a ton of stuff that could cause it. Not a lot of replacement parts out there either unfortunately. So, it's cleaning and replacing lines and, pods. I used a canister purge solenoid...

Big Dog 23. That would be the infamous VATS system. There are several articles posted on that already. Just search year make and model VATS and it should pop up for you.

Those look like the OE fans. The passenger side fan should run off the fan switch between cylinder 6 and 8 and, the other won't turn on until the car gets hot. that's when you should see the voltage...

read the manual. It says to jump a to b disconnect the est, set timing, pull jumper a to b, shut off car. reconnect est, disconnect neg batt for 30 seconds. to reset any codes.

be sure the block is properly grounded. One cable from the neg batt to the chassis, one from the chassis to block, one from the block to the firewall. Sounds exactly like what I had one do to me.

you got your blower motor (unit on the left) the AC unit ( Right ). The fitting in the front of the canister just needs to be capt.

Good Rescue on the car by the way.

I'd say it sounds like the distributor O ring. This is a fairly common place to loose oil from the back of the block.

I've seen oil leeks come from those at the back of the block. But, if there wasn't noticeable oil in that area that shouldn't be the problem.
