How about cost of new carb vs the improved mileage. At 1-2 mpg more, payback would take a long time. Just playing devils advocate.

The wire is purple. There should be a couple of wires/ fusable links that go on the top terminal of the starter.

O2 sensor is in the exhaust system. Maybe a knock sensor. Does it have a round plug?

Check it with a scanner. When it gets "lazy" replace it. (When it is slow in switching back and forth).

It's for the remote starter. It lets the remote starter know when the motor starts.

The accelerator doesn't guzzle gas. It will fix part of your problem. I would trade a .25 mpg loss foe a car that runs right. And +2 on getting the choke working.

There is a sender in the drivers side head, between 1 & 3 spark plugs. You might have a lose/shorted wire.

The green one looks like the temp gauge wire. it should hook to the sender between 1 & 3 sparkplugs

Mark a line on the driveshaft and a rear tire. Turn the wheel 1 turn, count the revs the driveshsft makes. 3.25=3.23 3.5=355 ectc.

This has been said before, but. The spark only uses 1 electrode to fire. you could have 1,000,000 electrodes, but 999,999 would be unused. Any performance gain you see is prolly from your wallet...

If its a tpi, the pressure should be 40- 45 lbs with the vacuum line off of the regulator.
