I can attest to that. My friends 87 camaro would log all day long.
Both my replacement and my original 165 ecm can't.
Its pretty wonky. Hopefully WinALDL will get you the info you need.

Try WinALDL for logging and tunerpro for programming.
See if you can log in WinALDL for longer.
Pretty sure it's the 8192 output on the 165 ECM as I can sorta get it working for a little bit...

Im not too sure what else can cause the sluggishness other than the spark curve in the chip, and the fuel curve to match it.

I don't think anything is wrong.
Code 12 is no distributor reference pulse according to Haynes.
But that is the code that blinks 3 times when key on engine off.
It will then blink any...
