Re: LT1 T56 swap done, some comments, some questions

You are wise not to listen to that motor guy, if that was the case, most motors from the mid 80's to now would have been in a heap of trouble.

Re: Possible cooling issues

Also make sure that the air dam under the front of the car is in place, this is what forces the air up into the radiator when you are driving, the grills just won't cut it to keep it cool.

Re: some lt1 swap questions

Re: LT1 wiring in over my head

The fuel enable comes from the chip in the key, that goes into the BCM (Body Control Module) and then to the PCM, best thing to do is have VATS programmed out of the PCM itself.

Re: LT1 wiring in over my head

VATS is programmed inside the PCM, you have to have it programmed out, or buy a vats bypass (I programmed mine out)

Re: LT1 wiring in over my head

That would be VATS in the LT1 PCM, it keeps the fuel pump from running after the car is started and basically, you run out of gas on the motor.

Re: LS3 topend install

You shouldn't need spacers for the f-body waterpump. It doesn't have the outlet coming out of the top but through the front of the pump and is made different than the truck pump.
