Re: Do I have a bad TPI combo?

To my knowledge, the EBL is for the TBI computers, not your '730. I picked up the Ostrich 2 from moates, and I love it. Combined with the cable I got from ALDLcables.com, I can tune real time. Makes...

Re: 165-730 Swap; no spark

It turns out the pickup coil was junk. I tried a new distributor, with the same module and ignition coil, and now I have spark. Its odd that after repinning my harness, this problem arose, so I hope...

Re: 165-730 Swap; no spark

Did somemore testing today. The pickup coil is at ~750ohms, and there is infintate resistance when checking the leads. I guess that checks out ok. Took the ignition module to Advance today, and it...

Re: 165-730 Swap; no spark

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I have an Ostrich, and an AUJP memcal. I burned a new AUJP bin, which I bypassed the VATS, AIR and changed the VSS to optical input. I'm gonna try another check of the...

Re: 165-730 Swap; no spark

Yes. However it ran fine with '165. I had a brain fart and forgot to disconnect the batt. While I was repinning, one of the 12V wires arched on something, so I'm trying to back track what I may have...

Re: 85 Z28 TPI into 94 Jimmy

I'm not sure about the caprice, but the Camaro brackets are about a 1/2" longer than an S10s. I found this out the hard way, when the belt alignment was out of wack.

Disable VATS in the bin? Also, check out the Ref Pulse vs. PW table. For some reason GM set the first 8 values to 0. I changed these to .50, and motor fires nearly instantly.

Knock sensor should be blue. A green/white wire is more likely to be coolant fan temp switch. They share the same style connector.

Clear them, and they'll turn yellow. You will need to have them sealed with something along the lines of Zoop.

Re: how will a ported tpi respond to 10.5:1 or 11:1

Better get into PROM tuning. With that much compression, its gonna ping like crazy. Once it starts to ping, the ECM is gonna pull tons of timing, and then its gonna be a pig.

What voltage is the ECM seeing? You should have lower voltage at idle, and 5V at WOT. Are you using TunerPro or something to scan? Maybe theres something screwy with the .xdf file.

Thats definatly ROLLER block. Its a 1 piece RMS, so at the most you would have to drill the "spider" bosses in the lifter valley, and get the retainers.

nope, thats how the L31s mount. you are going to need the SDPC intake. many have redrilled the heads, but their tall intake runners create a port mismatch.
