Re: Desperate for ideas on UMI A arms and Eibach spring install!

Yes I did put the top spring mount plates in correctly, thanks for that tip too!

After playing around with the plates several times, I was able to find a combination that worked flawlessly using...

Re: Desperate for ideas on UMI A arms and Eibach spring install!

I'm curious how exactly you align the plates on the otc compressor to compress the spring like a banana? I've tried compressing it about 5 times in different alignments, but it always seems to...

Re: Desperate for ideas on UMI A arms and Eibach spring install!

Thanks for all the responses. The suggested spring compressor will be here tomorrow so I will tackle it again this weekend. Glad to hear that was the easiest way to make it work too. Well worth the...

Re: Desperate for ideas on UMI A arms and Eibach spring install!

I kind of tried doing what you just suggested minus using the ratchet strap. I felt like I could have got the holes lined up this way. However, another problem I had doing this was the car will lift...

Bringing this one back from the dead as I'm stuck with the same situation and can't find much help searching.

I wrestled with these all weekend trying to get my Eibach springs seated using the UMI...

Re: I suck at thread titles, so its getting worked on....a 91 RS/283/BW9Bolt/Etc..

I know what you mean. The weather has been pretty bad in NC this year... lots of cold and rain. That 283 sounds like a pretty neat idea. I built a 305 last year wanting something "different" and...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I don't mind spending a little money or time up front to ensure the longevity of this motor. I'm not planning to modify it much from stock with the exception of exhaust....

Re: low mileage LT1 - need a refresher?

I was thinking at the very least to replace the rear main seal while its out. I've heard the LTs are prone to leak there.

low mileage LT1 - need a refresher?

I recently acquired a fairly low mileage LT1 - original owner said 29k miles. It's been sitting for some time so I'm debating on what to do with it. The oil was pretty much black goo and the coolant...

Re: Fuel Filter

Did you keep the in-tank pump or did you already remove it? You can use the in tank pump with a return style regulator. No need for a mechanical pump.

Re: Hooker 2055's and ZZ4 "D" ports

I think if the 2055's are at least 1 5/8 you should be fine. It's not so much the D shape of the exhaust port as it is that they are raised 0.100". The ZZ4 heads are almost identical to the old 113...
