I guess I never posted in this part of the forum so I wanted people to see my 87 Trans Am.

why not just sand it by hand? The factory paint makes for a good base to start off with.
Get yourself a board sander and go at it getting it as straight as possible. Then paint with a sandable...

my car is a t top car and I had a crack on the drivers side. just behind the door on that side pillar. right where that meets the top of the door. Drilled a hole to stop the crack, then welded it...

thanks! I like it. I cleaned up things the best I could in the engine bay. I need to re route the heater hoses this spring. I think there is a thread on here somewhere to make it look nice.

stealth ram would help out a lot I would think. Specially if your running a stock TPI set up. I'm running an Elelbrock set up on my car.

I have that cam in my car. Good idea to change your springs also. And while your in there changer your valve seals as well. I did install a Holley AFPR, I like them the best.
I also jumped up to LT1...

your fine with 87, specially being stock. If you had a built motor, it would be different. Every once and awhile toss a bottle of octane booster in like on every 3 tanks.
Seafoam works wonders also!

I have soft seals on mine. I changed mine 2 times so far. Once because it needed it. The 2nd time because we painted may car.
I've had no problems with them at all.

I have Sportlines on my car. It dropped it just enough for me. Michigan roads, I could not go any lower lol....And I really like the way my car sits. Don't forget your Sub frame connectors!!!!

I put a cam in my little 305. It woke it up a little. Plus makes power to 5500 ish.
Plus it sounds a lot better at idle. Make sure you change your springs and while your in there change your valve...

Delete it! Buy some nice headers and start going to town. It cleans up the motor compartment SO MUCH! And changing plugs are really easy now lol!!

Thanks, Took a lot of time, but the Candy Apple Red looks killer on it!
Plus I shaved the door handles and took off the side moldings. It looks really good in the sun.

Before you look into a gear in the rear end, think about the cost. You probably have a series 2 carrier. Series 2...you can only go to a 3.08 gear....its not worth the $$ in my opinion.

I have a 3.73 for my auto, I agree 1st gear is a little short....But its fun! If I had a T5...I would have went 4.10's
And I have the 2032 cam also installed in my car.

not really cheap. TPI's are an $$ motor to try to tweak.

Headers are your best bet if you can install them yourself. Plus it cleans up the motor bay quite a bit.

Yes both of those will do something. That's the 1st thing I did with mine. Then I updated my rear end with a 3.73 gears and that helped big time.
Next was a cam and intake swap.
I'm pretty happy...

The heads are your biggest bottle neck with the TPI motors. You have updated heads so I think you will see nice gains. I have the Edelbrock intake set up on mine. And I'm pretty happy.

agreed with above. I replaced my cam. Never replaced the lifters. I had a roller cam.
Roller or non-roller is the 1st question.

I installed the crane 2032 cam # 104224
