Dude, the open white wire in your drawing is the brown wire BigBabyLou was referring to. It needs to go to an ignition source, maybe via a resistor or a charging lamp, depending on what car you got.

There are several ground wires going to the ECM. It's unlikely that all of them have failed, but that being said; ground faults are often an ignored issue.

To make a tank gage accurate requires some tedious work if you can't get parts that are known fixes. The way I see it you'll have to make a kind of "jig" or an open model of the tank if you will....

Having a 2.25" system on my "190hp" L69 305 kills torque over 3500rpm whereas the 2.75" it's supposed to have allowed it to pull strong to 5000.
So I say definitely go for 3" from the Y-back.

Duh.. When I mentioned my clutch fan noise it was because both items have bearings that can fail in the same way, giving off similar noises.. You wouldn't need to take off the belt to check the fan...

The bearings may be about to go out completely. Just before my clutch fan stuck it made some kind of crackling noise.
Take off the fan belt and check the bearings for wear/noise.
