as far as the motor just get the casting number off the bell housing of the block. As far as fuses go you only replace the fuses that are bad. With regards to your wipers sometimes it's a pulse board...

With an engine leveler you don't have to drag the tranny up the firewall and let it spring out, there are no supprises, you have complete control, and you can find one these days for not much more...

I wouldn't change the carrier bearing unless i had to thats when you get into gear set up issues. Any time ive ever rebuilt a rear end and had to change the bearings Ive had to bust out the shim's....
