Re: Loose Steering Wheel Tilt Mechanism?

If it's stubborn about going into the connector piece between the column and the gearbox, you might need some sandpaper and a negotiator (rubber mallet). As far as I know, the columns were the same...

Re: Loose Steering Wheel Tilt Mechanism?

Yes. If possible, try and get the little black box out of the same car. I didn't and had to bypass mine manually (which is probably easier than swapping boxes).

Basically, the pass key box looks...

Re: Loose Steering Wheel Tilt Mechanism?

Swap out a whole new column and do it yourself. The parts are relatively easy to find, and it's a pretty simple to do as a whole (already wrote a procedure on this thread). Trying to fix a floppy...

I saw something like this happen to an old cavalier when the muffler rotted out and hot gases poured upward. It's enough to melt stuff. Theoretically, the characteristics of how the gas escaped out...

Re: 88 Iroc idles rough

It differs state by state down here. Here in Michigan, there's none (so I always delete them).

The Haynes Manuals are pretty good but some of the more in-depth stuff you'll need to come here for.

Re: My car surges!! What could cause this??

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news... but it could be transmission issues. The 700r4's are really well built, but if you're slipping out of gear, it could cause your RPM's to spike. You should...

Your oil pressure dropping at idle once its warm is normal to a certain extent. Low oil pressure usually means you've sprung a leak and risking critical engine failure.

If memory serves the...
