Oil filter adapter?
Anyone, no one has them in stock and autozone type places don't carry them. I can have it ordered in a week and I can't wait that long. Call me impatient.

You were smart to get a new one. It's probably rare but the by-pass spring in my used unit broke allowing the spring, retainer plate and unfiltered oil to pass through my engine. I had about $2400 in that rebuild and it was junk in about a day. If anyone uses a used one, I would eliminate the by-pass spring and retainer plate. Thread it for a plug. Now your oil will always be forced through your oil filter. The burst pressure will be high when the motor is cold but that pressure can easily be handled by a K&N filter.

Pretty much any oil filter with a high burst pressure rating and a good flowing filter will work. It doesn't hurt when you do this modification to run a quality thin viscosity synthetic oil. I like Mobile 1 5/30. Attached is the modification...before and after.
