Max tire size on stock RS 15 inch rims

Max tire size on Stock 15 inch RS wheels???

These 215/65/15's are just too narrower...
It seems if you go above 225 series you cant get any good speed ratings on the tires... all T's and S's.. I want H or higher as I actually like to corner some and that comes with the higher speed rated tires!

I have 225/60's in the front and 235/60's in the rear, you can fit up to a 275 on the rear but i wouldn't . I would go 265 or 255 max.

I put 235/60/15's on mine and they are great. They are the Yokohama Avid S/T. I am not sure of the speed rating of them though. I got them from tirerack.com. Summit sells them also. I saw them in their magazing and I think on the 15 inch rims you can fit up to 255 on the 7 inch wide rims. I don't know what speed rating but the max for your 15X7's is 255.

OK cool... well I dont like any of the speed ratings on the 245/60/15's so I will prolly drop down to 245/50/15's which gets me into a much more expensive tire but a much better one... Thanks for the help guys!

hahaha with the 255's out back maybe I should run a truck tire... since the only one tirerack has in a 255/60/15 with a decent speed rating is a truck tire...

In some cases truck tires are better(if the profile is high). They have a stronger/stiffer sidewall. At my local track(for stock enduro class) we have to run 70 or 75 series tires all around so a truck tire is the only option and some of them actually stand up pretty well.

the truck size was 255/60/15 I believe....

215= width
65 is an aspect ratio of the width of the tire
15 is the rim size

So I wanted to go 245/50/15's to stay closer to the stock 215/65/15 size so I would not throw off my speedometer....

FYI the 245/50r15 are a 25" tire, while the speedo is calibrated for a 26" tire... I had those on the front of my car for a while and with it not being lowered it looked funny - too much gap between the fender and tire. 235/60r15 is good size.

BFGoodrich makes a 255/60r15 tire in the Radial T/A. That tire is well known for being a popular muscle car tire.

krazycracka55 - I had 235/60r15 on the front and 255/60r15 on the back several years ago with no problems whatsoever. It did slightly increase the rake of the car by lifting the rear just under 1/2". It only threw my speedo off a little bit, I was doing 62 with the speedo reading 60.

4MULA88; I know this if a goofy question but what if i ran the tire size you had with a backspacing of 4" ? is there any reason to think thats they will stick out to far and rub on the fenders?
