From FL to MD
Hey Guys, I'm picking up a 86 Z28 Vert from Florida, and I'm currently living in SC. But I'll be Moving to MD here in a few months. I'm really concerned about the frame rusting out with these cold/salty winters comming up.
I've heard of getting a 'undercoat' on new cars when you buy them. Is this somthing i should look into? or mabey just get everything painted? I'm 22 and would like to keep this car as long as possible in it's Mint condition.
Thanks.

If it's mint, it sure can't hurt to get that undercoating. Preventive medicine is always the best chance for a long life for our cars! I know if I was headed where you are, I'd have them undercoat it right off the bat. The worst rusting offenders seem to be the floor panels, wheel wells, and I've seen many a door bottom edge rusted clean through. Might wanna do a search for rust repair here and see what others have found to be rusted badly. That way you'll know what to pay special attention to.

Thanks, It's still up in the air.... I'll find out in a week or so.
I got the car... and HOLY CRAP!!! this sucker is hot on the throttle!!! Really loud, like sets off car alarms loud. ... freaking awsome!!!
But! - Needs tuned, looks like fuel pressure is low, and fuel gauge needs fixed.
I've never actually messed with carb's before, so this is different for me. It flooded this morning, and now it's not even trying to kick over :-( ... learning experiences... gotta love 'em.
