Stock Wonderbar Vs. Spohn
I currently have a stock Iroc wonderbar installed on my 84 T/A. I was thinking of upgrading to the Spohn wonderbar.
The Spohn wonderbar seems to be twice as large in diameter as the stock piece.
Is it worth it? Anyone have any experience with this? Any noticable difference?
(My car currently has SFC's, STB, boxed LCA's, panhard bar, lowered, etc...)
Thanks for any help.

Not worth it unless you're doing some hardcore steering maneuvers. Even then, I would think the stock wonderbar would hold up fine.
Think about this. Take the stock wonderbar off and try your damnedest to bend it with your bare hands. That's about how much pressure it undergoes. If it bends, well you know what to buy.

Go with the TDS one. Bolts right in with no modifications.
The Spohn and BMR ones I had needed one hole elongated for them to work.
We put the TDS one on in just a couple of minutes.
btw, I am running the GM unit on my 88 Formula and it works great.
New from the dealer was $23 when they still had them.
I picked up 2 from the junkyards for $5 each.

why are you selling? Is it so hard to install on cars with the dual-fan set-up? Any ideas of why it was not installed in the GTAs?

I'm selling because:
I went to a junk yard and there is a 86 Firebird(single fan) with Spohn sticker on it...yeeeesssss.
I check the chassi and it had the Spohn wonder bar and some other goodies. Although I already have the stock bar, I thought this was better.
Once I got it home, it hit the lower dual fan mounts big time(search).
This seems to be an IROC only item, could be because of the racing, better engineers at the Camaro plant...I don't know
Its still for sale

I think it is a IROC only, but I think I have heard of a 1991 350 Z28 with one. Might have been hear-say, though. With the single fan, Spohn is in easy (well, it was hard with no jack). The duals are tricky. A friend of mine has the dual fan Z28 and had a TDS. The Spohn is a little beefier, though.
