Transmission: 6speed from an unidentified 4th gen. ask me, ill tell you.
From what I understand, it would be possible, but with that big of a wheel you will most likely run into rubbing problems when your wheel approaches full lock (if not earlier). I would suggest not running wider than 8inches wide up front. In the back, 9/9.5 would be perfect

I have fit a 17 X 9 with a 275/40/17 on the front with no rubbing, but I am worried the 18'' rim will just be too big in 9'' wide. I think I am just going to go 8'' wide and forget about it.

Car: too many ...
As long as you use the same backspacing/offset specs you did with the 17x9 wheel AND the overall tire height of the new setup is the same as the old setup with 17x9 ... then it'll fit no problem.

I have seen and heard of people running 18x9.5 in the front and the rear. i have also seen 18x10.5 in the rear. so I now they will fit. I just dodn't kjnow about that tire size. you can get away with a 255/35/18 for sure.

I ran a 265/35/18 in the front of my Iroc with no rubbing at all but I was stock height. I sold the rims to 87tpi for his T/A and it was lowered(prokit) and he said if the tires where new they would rub.

Hey BOTTLED, I did go with 18X9 up front and I used 275's, they rub very little at full lock. I say go for it and don't worry at all. As far as the tire size, I am running Falken's up front and they seem to be a little more narrow compaired to say a BF or Goodyear tire. Good luck.

Umm, i don't know what the backspacing is because when you order the ROH wheels they already have them premade to fit the application. I can tell you that whatever backspacing they use on the 9'' rim is PERFECT for the front, so mabey call JD wheels or group 1 and ask what the backspacing is that they use on a RT 9'' wide wheel for a third gen. Once you get that you can obviously just subtract whatever the C5 brakes add and you will have the right backspacing, sorry I don't have the #'s for you though.

i ran 275/35/18 on a 9.5" in the front... couldn't stand it. the extra width was pointless on the street and it wore out my steering that much faster. but it fits and i was running baer brakes which push out 1/4" more as well as a coilover conversion.

To be honest I have no idea how you could not stand it, unless that 1/2'' made all of the diff.?? I have really no problems with this set-up and the thing BARELY rubs at all!!

I just got an email from newstalgiawheel.com and they said that their Boyds JYD wheel in an 18x9 size will have a 13mm offset with a desried 5.5"BS. Just posting this in case anyone esle wanted to know. I think this should work out fine for the front. the back wheel in 18x10 with a 6"BS will also have a 13mm offset

Sounds good to me, I think your car will look great with those wheels. When I have a little extra paper to through around I will get some better wheels!

well I hope it looks good with those wheels. theres a lot of other wheels out there that Id like to have but there just as bit too much money and I dont exactly live the safest neighborhood. My plan is to have some vinyl stickers made that will go over the spokes of the wheels so I can see what they will look like blacked out in the center. If it dont look good on my car then I will just remove the decals. The pic of my car in the sig is nothing like what my car will look like in the spring. I now have an SS hood, and soon the windows will be black as well as the headlight pockets and the center scoop on the hood. Should look alot better then what it does now.
