On 275's? Your either nuts or bluffing.
I know a guy that runs high 11's at a 5800 altitude. So he can run 10's easy at sea level. He is running 315's on an 11" wide rim. He's only pushing around 600 crank horsepower.

Nuts...no....bluffing definetly not! What is not to believe. If you search around the net you will see many cars have been in the 7's on 315 and 325 radials and I know for sure Artis Houston has been low 8's on a 275. If you check out the Pacific Street Car Association's wild street class you will find many 8 and 9 second cars on a 275 radial since that is all the class allows. Both David Wolfe and Dwayne Guttridge have been in the 7.40 range at 190 plus on 325s and 315s respectively . In my area there are at least 30 radial tire cars in the single digits. The shakedown at etown just had an outlaw drag radial class with numerous cars in the 7's and a bump of around 8.60 for a 16 car field.
Here is my rig and the timeslip.
you can see the tread in this pic

Thanks! There are a bunch of outlaw 10.5 guys in the high 6's in my area. I was just at englishtown this past weekend and saw Tim Lynch go 6.66 on 10.5's.

THAT IS ONE OF THE NICEST, AND FASTEST THIRD GENS I EVER SAW!
I saw some of your pics in some other threads, but they were of your front suspension, on a lift, I suppose.
I was reading this thread, and was going to ask if you had any pics of it. Then you posted some up.
BTW, where in Pa are you from radialtireking?

Car: projects.......
I've yet to run 1/4 in the 10.5 car. I haven't found the nads yet. I've been 4.76 @ 160 in the 1/8. I'm just a bit leary of running over 200 in the 1/4 on a factory front stub, plus that last 1/2 track is damb hard on parts. - we'll see how I feel in the new car.
- my old man just had a nasty crash(1st ever in almost 40 years of racing for him) 125mph t-bone into the wall, 1/8 out through the shut down on the roof. He was competely unhurt(thankfully) but the 'maro ain't so good. So, I'm about to build a new car(3rd gen TA) for outlaw 10.5, factory front suspension, 3000lbs, factory firewall, etc with a 500" bbc and a monster of a turbo on methanol. Should be fun, especially since I'm gonna shift it, though it will have a bruno's drive...

hey whats up. has anyone heard of rick head. a few years ago he ran at orlando and was running mid 7s. if you take a look at his car its mostly bolt ons.
my dad's 3rd gen ran a best of 8.83 with simple bolt ons and the m/t 10.5w tire 29in tall.

What do you consider bolt ons? Getting a third gen to run high 12s, or low 13s, with bolt ons is one thing, but, 7s, and 8s?

hey radialtireking, what kind of rear suspension do you run? as in shocks and springs? and do LCA relocation brackets really work?

simple bolt ons as in adjustable panhard bar, adjustable lower controll arms, ford 9in rearend, adjustable torque arm and welded in subframe connectors. on the inside of the car we have a costom roll cage. the shocks are koni udjustibles and springs are stock. the ride hight is just about stock hight. the front suspention is completely stock with the exception of struts and a steering brace.
here i have an attached video of our low 9sec run after our 8.83 run. the supercharger tube blew off.
YouTube - 9.12 run south pac 03
my dad used to drive this car everyday for work as a police officer. since then we freshend up the engine and added the suppercharger. the engine is a 406 small block chevy with a f-3 procharger. its never been on the dyno but our calculations bring horsepower to about 1000 at the wheel.
