Wheel problems after replacing knuckle...
I replaced the driver side steering knuckle with one I picked up at the junkyard because my outer bearing had welded itself onto the old spindle. After I replaced the knuckle, I went for a drive around the block, as I turned back onto my street I smelled rubber, I got out and looked at the wheel, the top of the wheel was tilted inward dramatically. So bad that the top of the tire was rubbing on the strut bolt frame. I have no idea why it is tilted so badly. Any input? I noticed my ball joints on the tie rod need replacing aswell as my bushings, but I doubt that can affect the wheel so bad after a steering knuckle replacment. Did I possibly pick up a bent knuckle? I sat them side by side looked the same to me. I need help!!

Are you saying that the camber angle is way off?
I guess a bent knuckle is a possibility. Have you lowered the car?

Re: Wheel problems after replacing knuckle...
EXACTLY LIKE THAT!! I need any help I can get, my car has been sitting for over a week now and dont have the cash to be guessing on what the problem might be... she;s my daily driver at the moment and runs wonderful besides this problem. Oh and vehicle is not lowered.
Could worn bushings or bad ball joints cause camber to be off so bad?
I should also mention that after I took off the bolt that connects to the tie rod and the 2 bolts that connect to the strut I took off the last bolt which goes to a ball joint on the control arm, I had trouble getting the knuckle off of that ball joint, I banged it pulled it, seemed as if nothing would work. I grabbed a small jack to see if it could loosen the knuckle off of that ball joint or pry it off. I did that once, but I put the bolt back on the tie rod so the knuckle wont be moving side to side, I did not force it to pull on the tie rod tho. I saw that the control arm was also lifting as I lifted the knuckle so just dropped it, I banged the knuckle one more time and that did it, the knuckle loosened up. Im not sure if trying to jack the knuckle from an arm affected anything. possibly I dont know, I NEED HELP!!

Re: Wheel problems after replacing knuckle...
Yeah I think thats a very high possibility because I remember having to raise the control arm with a jack in order to get the bolts in good. How would I be able to adjust the strut mount? from under the hood? Thanks

Thanks James. Im gonna take the knuckle off- adjust the strut mount and re-install it in hopes that this will solve my problem. Thanks for the input.

I'd think you could tell if the strut mount had moved. You don't have to remove the knuckle:
