Need help with suspension.. car to low 92 camaro
Hi guys
I reacently got a new exaust on my car and it hangs lower than the factory exaust. I have a 92 camaro with factory suspension on the car and i would love to raise the car a few inches. Can anyone tell me what type of suspension i have and recomend some parts. Any help is appreciated

Why not fix the exhaust instead of raising the car? It will be a downgrade in both looks and handling.

Having the exhaust fixed would be cheaper to have done, and less work if you're a DIY guy. Hands down the better option. ...to address the actual question directly, I'm not even sure HOW to go about safely LIFTING a car that's currently at stock ride height.

This actually goes both ways:
- Yes, the correct approach is to get the exhaust up where it should be, but I guess you could be doing something extremely large or otherwise that it's not an option
- Very few of these cars are sitting at "stock" ride height. My TA seems not to have sagged as much as most, but at almost 35y/o I'm sure that it has sagged some, and it sits HIGH. Like 4x4 high. In this pic it's sitting on 26.1" tall front tires and 28" tall rear tires and you can see the front tire to fender gap is over a fist's worth. This or maybe as much as 1/2" above this is the designed stock suspension geometry, which puts it MUCH higher than most modern cars, even though these are considered very low cars. My stock high current gen SHO is lower and more of a problem to get on ramps than a lowered 3rd gen TA. If your car is sitting lower than this a new set of springs might help you out. Heck, even springs like Eibach Pro springs that lower the car some will rase some of sagged stock spring cars out there.

I dont think getting it fixed is an option. I live in australia and had the car converted to right hand drive and there is no room on the new drivers side of the engine at all. I had to get a custom set of headders made to squeze in there. So now im stuck with an exaust that hangs an inch and a half lower than stock. What do you guys think of a lift kit? There is one from universal car lifts that claims 4 inch lift on my 92 camaro

G zuss, a transfer case and front axle might help.

I’d put the stock exhaust manifolds and y-pipe back on before I would jack up the suspension 4”.

I know its low lol im just trying to improve it even a little. Do you think new factory hight springs with 3inch spring spacers would help? Maybe strut spaces too ?

The original springs may sit a bit lower after all of these years, so sure, go ahead and replace them with new stock replacement springs.
You could use 4th gen rubber spring isolators in the rear, that will add 1” to the rear height. Not sure on the front. I don’t know of any spacers or anything that would raise it.

Re: Need help with suspension.. car to low 92 camaro
So there is a 2 inch gap from exaust to floor and id like to get it to at least 5.
I have just ordered some new heavy duty springs for front and back, some KYB mono tube shock absorbers, and some KYB struts. This combined with some coil spring spacers might get me there. Im hopeing the springs have sagged as the measurement fron the front fender to the floor is only 25 1/2 inches and i read somewhere on here it should he 27 1/2.
Hopefully the parts wont take to long to ship 🍻

On the cheap, theres always coil spring boosters/expanders..

Those things put all the stress of the weight on a 1-2 inch spot on the coils, that is just asking for trouble. Run Rubber inserts if anything, but it will make the ride worse with either option
