Vortec Heads

Hey guys, I am looking at purchasing some vortec heads from ebay. What should I look out for when looking for them on there. I beleive I need the heads from the 5.7 350...is there a certain number or type of head I need for my 305 or will any 350 vortec heads work?

Make sure they aren't the 305 vortec's, other than that there is one style that's not as good as the other but i can't remember what the number is.

Will the 906 heads bolt up to the stock intake? Or do you need a carb intake with a tbi adapter?

Yeah you will have to change your intake. I think the best way to go is edelbrock.
The performer. Performer RPM. Performer RPM airgap.

Then theres other ones you can get especially for that setup but you would pay alot more.

i dont remeber what it was but i was told on here that the 906's werent that good and the 8062's were the ones to get, i think its something about the casting or port desing into the comb. chamber. imi prob wrong im not really for sure.

just throwing this out as an idea: have any of you guys gone through the process of running vortecs with roller rockers (machine work / porting / polishing / result???) I'm starting to toy with the idea of following a similar path since i took my dads 5.0 for a drive. he went nuts on the buildup and its mondo faster than my camaro
