azvolfans's Manifold Swap!!
Ok, I was going to wait till I got this whole "not giving me all the pictures I payed for" thing taken care of, but I might as well get what I have up now...
First off, let me tell you this was one HECK of a job! Turns out the Eldelbrock TBI Manifold and the 416 (pre-87 TPI heads, right?) don't exactly work together. Here's how it went...
James (90_WS6_Formula) and Bill (azvolfan) working on getting the old stocker off the car...
Minus an intake manifold, plus a shiny new set of Felpro's...
After we tried getting the new manifold on, we ran into the problem that with the new heads the two middle bolt holes on either side were on a MUCH sharper angle than the original heads. Bill had his stock manifold machined to accept this, but the Edelbrock Manifold's plenum was way to big to do so. Tust me when I say we tried a whole lotta things...
James grindin' away...
Tony (TonyC) grindin' away...
Finally, James came up with one heck of an idea. Get some AllThread and bend it so that the thread protruding from the manifold (when on the engine) stuck straight up, then use a standard nut with some washers to tighten her down!
And have any of you ever played, "Where's The Part We Need?"
And last but not least (well, of the pictures I have now) me being an idiot, not thinking to remove things from the work area before bolting things back up, and Nic (Snflupigus) thinking it was as funny as I did...
Anywho, I'll add the better pics when I get them, if I ever do. Enjoy!

I wish I could get mine done.....Too many issues with a ZZ4 intake and holley TBI adapter. 1. Too tall 2. Too far foward 3. Connections...IE vacuum-brakes, heater..ect
Good news is.....well, there is not any. I have to make an adapter after deployment but in the mean time I will use zipties for the throttle cable. Still trying to figure out what I am going to do about the vacuum-brake hose and how I can make it work.

Johnny... I have an adjustable bracket for the throttle and TV cable. The only issue is there isn't one for cruise control. I'll post the manufacturer and part number when I get back home.

I was there when the war started and now I get the chance to go back. You dont here it on the news but the US is doing some great stuff over there. We are rebuilding power, roads, buildings but its not like you see that stuff on the news. All you hear is bomb here, killing there, blah....yeah there is bad stuff going on but there is good too!

Yeah, the news media is into the sensationalistic journalism. The good stuff doesn't spark the emotions like the bad stuff. It's pretty irresponsible journalism if you ask me.
I better step down from my soap box. I don't want to get the thread locked.
