Engine Stalls

Hey there, So I have a 85 T/A with the 305 H.O. 4bbl. When I go to start it up after it has been sitting for 6+ hours, it likes to stall right as soon as it fires up the first time and then again the second time unless i give it a little gas and keep it at 1000 rpm for a minute. After that its good until I let it sit for a 6+ hours again. I used a carb and choke cleaner but nothing. Any suggestions?

Re: Engine Stalls

Do you pump the peddle before starting? Is your choke closing?

Re: Engine Stalls

Try pumping the peddle four or five times and start. Repeat two or three times. See what happens. Pump to the floor.

Re: Engine Stalls

I tried pumping the peddle and it didn't seem to do much, still stalled, I am going to give the choke another check once it stops raining.

Re: Engine Stalls

I have the same starting issue on an 87 firebired 2.8 V6, But it will also die randomly while driving. Regardless of outside temp.
I just pulled a code 34

Shouldn't need to pump it more than once. Twice in cold weather.
