Help with Engine
Im having a problem taking the metal clips off of my fuel injectors to get the connectors off. Can someone please tell me the proper way to do this ive already accidentally broken 1 piece of the plastic connector on each side of the fuel rail. Chiltons and Hanes have not been helpful.
I have a 88 350 TPI that ive been taking apart for a rebuild and a vacuum line accidentally ripped when I took the intake off it caught onto somehwere, It goes to the bottom of the throttle on that really tiny part.
Is this easy to replace? I really hope its not something thats discontinued
this thing was a real pain in the *** to get off...

Re: Help with Engine
That connection on the bottom of your throttle body goes to your egr solenoid. It would be the front hose on the solenoid to be exact. The other plastic hose coming out of the solenoid goes directly to the egr valve itself.

Re: Help with Engine
Your egr solenoid is between your coil and your distributer. It is a small black box with a rubber fitting that two plastic hoses connect to.

Re: Help with Engine
All you have to do is press the clips while you pull the wire connectors off of the injectors. IF i remember correctly you just press the clips in while pulling up on the wire connectors that would be sitting on top of your injectors.

Re: Help with Engine
If you want, I have heard that egr allows our cars to use more timing. When i disconnected my egr , i felt more part throttle power, but less power at WOT. Probably due to less advance being used cause i had no egr connected. Anyway, maybe if you disable it in the chip ,then it may work better for you. IDK.

Re: Help with Engine
Removing EGR will not improve power or performance in any way. All it will do is increase emissions, make the engine run slightly warmer, and reduce fuel economy. You won't gain anything.
