gen 1 smc with ls1 firing order is it posible?

Yep, its possible. Its called a 4/7 swap cam. I don't really see the point though.

Proponents of the 4/7 swap claim a small gain in power (5-6HP from a 750HP NASCAR SBC) by correcting the imbalance in manifold harmonics and the inherent cooling problems caused by two adjacent cylinders firing in sequence. Others say that they notice no appreciable difference. While it may feel good to know you've solved an age old engineering flaw, you will never know the difference in a street driven vehicle.

That's the explanation I've heard but intake harmonics aside, now you have 2/4 firing back to back so that rather negates the cooling problem argument.

Yes. But it's still advantagious not to have two cylinders at the rear extremity firing in sequence. Ever notice on stock SBCs how #5 & #7 exhaust valves are always the first to go? At least that's how proponents of the swap see it. Another supposed advantage is improved crankshaft harmonics which is claimed to free up power. I don't see where it's worth the trouble, unless you're racing and want to find every last ounce of power.
