Not the one you screw in the one that you plug in. I'm pretty sure my alternator is shorting out because of it and my car is losing power. Not to mention my alternator is extremely hot only after a few minutes of running it.
The plug has 4 metal prongs on the inside and I'm not having any luck finding it on advanced auto parts website.
If someone can give me a link to what this wire is called so I can buy it I would really appreciate the help. In the mean time ill continue looking and keep you updated on if I find it.
Thank you!

Well I found the wire but when I was looking at it I realized that it looked exactly like mine. I thought there was supposed to be four metal prongs on the inside but there is only three

Hm, My alternator gets EXTREMELY hot within a few minutes of running my car, it also seems to be suffering from some power loss. I'm going to take it right down the street to have it tested for free but I cant right now
So can I have your opinions on this? Will a short in my car make it run kinda funny? Its not running extremely rough but it seems like it wants to.

An open will cause things to not work, intermittently or not at all.
I would hook up a voltmeter and watch it. I think walmart has one of those that plug into the cig lighter for cheap to make it easy.

I have a voltmeter a neighbor gave to me I just dont know what to set it to... It says it a digital multimeter it has these settings
DCV-200m, 2000m, 20, 200, 1000
ACV-750, 200
DCA-200u, 2000u, 20m, 200m
ADC-?
I have no idea there is a bunch of settings lol. I know he used it to check my voltage though. Would you know what one to use.

With engine running you should be between 13.5 and 15.0 volts.
The cheapie walmart thing has warning lights to let you know what is bad in case you can't remember.

rockautoparts has a very good parts listing
sometimes their prices are good too but it at least gives you reference part #s to use a cross ref at local parts stores

The previous owners installed an aftermarket radio, I'm pretty sure its hooked up wrong.
I'm going to check out that site right now, see if they have any good deals on other parts I need.
