Need help guys first problem where I have no Idea what it could be....
Alright guys dealing with a 83 z28 with a 350 and th350 swapped in. Couple weeks ago I was putting in a new brake booster no problem got everything in and installed back to normal. I then Installed a new msd street fire distributor along with new plugs and wires. Upon going to give the car a start I got nothing no clicking just nothing. Thinking it was just a low battery got her all charged up put it back in and behold same result. The car started and ran just fine before doing this work and the only wiring I messed with was I unplugged the relay for the coolant fan and fuel pump by the booster to get them out of my way. I have checked all fuses they are all ok and checked all wiring to starter which is fine. I just cannot figure out how it just all of a sudden went to nothing. When I turn the key now all my gauges and lights work just fine, then I turn and I can her a click up near the coolant relay and my fan will slow to a stop until I let back off. Any ideas guys I am at a loss at the moment thanks....

Check your grounds and check your terminals at the battery, can you jump the starter,
Also I don't know if your car a that vat system
Use a meter to check your battery and your starter

A long shot but could be the low batt condition fried the solenoid on the starter?
I have heard that can happen.

I had a pick up once that started fine I went to the gas station shut it off and could not get it restarted even with a jump. I ended up push starting it to get it home. the problem turned out to be a bad cell connector in the battery. I had never seen a failure like that before or since.

Sounds like a bad connection, where the batt cables hook to the batt.

So I went out and tried to jump start the starter with a good old screwdriver and behold the engine turns just fine. I figured while I was at it I cranked it over to TDC and re-stabbed my new distributor and got all of that hooked back up and ready to roll. I didn't get to try anything after that as it started raining but I will give my battery cables another once over but could it be a short somewhere...

Nope, not a short.
It's a "long", if you will. The opposite of a short.

So I still can not find the source of this problem starting to get agitated. I can jump start the starter no problem, I have checked over my connections to the battery multiple times they are just fine and still all I get when I turn the key is a clicking noise up by my relays. Is there another ground somewhere I should be checking or where does the ignition wire to the battery come from exactly so I can give that a look.....

If your starter has three poss you may have swapped the coil and ign.wire at the solenoid. If not then check at the ignition switch itself to see if it energizes the starter wire. if not replace the switch if it does trace the wire and find out where the open in the wire is. It comes up thru the harness by or behind the maste cyl. Maybe you broke a wire on the booster install? maybe. Good Luck

have you tested the battery at AZ or Oreilly's or Sears or whereever? The "clicking" followed by nothing is a prime example of a weak battery. You could have a bad cell in the battery even though it says it's charged. The top post of the battery could have gone bad. Saw both instances while I worked at Sears, first time any of us had seen that. We didn't identify it until we hooked a actual graphing gauge to the battery that showed us what it was doing as soon as the key was turned, the battery was shorting internally. Could also be the battery cable itself is bad. The positive goes from the top post to the starter. May have an additional lead coming off it to somewhere. It could be that yoru positive cable has chaffed on the frame or something and is draining the battery that way.
