extremely sluggish 305
Hello, My 92 305 TBI with a 5 speed is so sluggish it's just nuts. It's been gradually getting worse. It has pretty new AC Delco plugs and 8mm wires. The cap and rotor I haven't replaced. It idles fine and never stalls but I have to be light on the pedal or it just kind of boggs down. I'm going to go get a cap and rotor now just because I haven't yet. And I haven't done anything else to it either except changed the oil and filter and I did change the fuel filter and air filter. What do you think I should do to just make it feel like it's basically supposed to? I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you.

I put in a new one a lil over a year ago to smog it. Could it be that if it's that new? Sorry I didn't mention that before.

Could be a number of things. Low compression being the worst. Bad gas, low fuel pressure clogged fuel filter coil going out, 1 of the 2 injectors not spraying correctly egr stuck open. Fuel pressure regulator going bad. Start with a compression test see if its good then spec all your egr components then fuel then ignition system

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue, definitely replace the fuel filter and run good gas through it and see if you notice a change, then I would start looking at fuel pressure and injectors. If all those check out I'd move onto spark. It's a good idea to go get a new cap and rotor since it's a quick and easy change

Never hurts to put in a new oxygen sensor as well. Though I'm no expert on the subject. Limited experience. Once.
Anyone may feel free to disagree about O2 sensor. No, really.
