Would an AMX beat a modified 3rd gen?
Ok, I'll probably have my camaro forever especially with what I plan to do with it. But I would also like to someday buy my other dream car a 1970 AMC AMX 390 4 speed.I know it would beat my car as is ( it's a 91 RS 305w/125k mi. on it) but what about when I swap in a 383 Stroker, a % speed manual(it's auto right now), and 3.73 gears in the back. I think it would be pretty close but I'd like to hear some other opinions.

Can't believe a post on the rare AMX. I haven't seen many fans of AMC muscle cars. Anyways, just thought it was kewl to see an ET off an AMX. I had one when I was 16 but my dad made me sell it cuz he thought it was too fast.

When the AMX was pretty much stock, headers intake,on street tires it would run 14.20-14.40's at 98 or so with 2.3 or worse 60 fts. With just sticky tires it was a good run for the Z28 on street tires, but the Z has real bad traction probs also, cant floor it till at least 30 ft out 2.16 or worse 60 fts. With the Sportman pros's the AMX leaves off the stutter box at 4800,on a 1.83 60 ft,best Et 12.94@102.3

What kind of father would make his son sell an AMX... man that is a classic and the cool thing about it is that AMC made it just to beat the mustang hehe...

Those are some nice looking cars 86ZZ4. I can't wait till I can do stuff like that to my ride. Hopefully I'll have my Camaro and an AMX in the same garage too someday.
