Knock Sensor Question - urgent!

The car is an '86 Vette.. I saw there is no wire on the knock sensor but there are a few wires dangling nearby. What color wire goes on the knock sensor?

Also which wire goes on the coolant sensor on the drivers side cylinder head? Green right?

Welcome to 3rd gen.org...the home of Camaro's and 'Birds...not Vette's

If noone replies, I'd suggest searching the Vette Forums for your answers. Good luck.

Hey moron,
I've been on here for years as another name but forgot my password. I had an '87 Camaro, '88 L98 Iroc, and '89 ASC GTA, and TPI is TPI whether its in a camaro, vette, or even a '32 Ford..

so if you can't answer my question, please refrain from comments

Geez, and I thought I was being helpful. The was no malice or flaming in my reply, nor none intended.

Also, I believe on my '89 it's white

no problem. Did it also have a metal tab with a mounting bolt hole a few inches from the connector? Cuz that's dangling around along with another dark wire

I want to say white as well, and the cts wire is green. I'm not sure what you mean by the bolt hole, but last time I checked the wire(when it wasn't hooked up on my last engine, heh), it had some kind of pointed metal thing on the end of it. I think it pulled out of the sensor when I changed my starter or something. If that other wire is black it may go to the fan switch.

OK from what I read the CTS should be near the throttle body. There's another coolant sensor on the drivers side of the engine, and there's a green wire which i'm told is a fan switch. It's in teh same split loom tubing as the fan's power wires.

In other words, i'm still baffled.

Sorry, by cts I meant sender not sensor. The green wire is for this on the drivers side head, it runs the temp guage in the dash. The black wire on the passenger side is for the fan switch, also in the head.

I would say white as well, but if it doesn't help you can check out www.scfyb.com or http://pub21.ezboard.com/bscfyb, they don't discriminate against corvettes
