60* to 90* tranny...
I was wondering if I could use the T5 on my 2.8L for a 4.3L...could I just change the bellhousing to a 90* or V8 bellhousing? or do I need to change the whole transmission? which would be cheaper...its a stock 4.3L so i dont have to upgrade the transmission I dont think...
Thanks!
Thanks!

so a v8 clutch kit wont work? and the only mod to the trans is just the bellhousing swap?
Thanks!

Re: 60* to 90* tranny...
Clutch disc diameter varies also
V8 F body 10.4" dia
Early V6 thirdgen 9-11/16
Late V6 thirdgen 9-1/8
S10?
Astro?
I believe the astro uses a 10.4" clutch also, at any rate, to use a V6 (1" 14 spline) transmission properly behind a V8 (or in your case 4.3 V6 since its the same as a sbc when it comes to the trans) you need the V8 flywheel, V8 clutch cover/ pressure plate, along with a disc thats 10.4" diameter like the V8 uses to match the pressure plate, but with a 1" 14 spline center hub to match your V6 transmission.
You actually need:
Bellhousing (V8)
Clutch fork (V8) , Yes the V6 and V8 use different forks
Pilot bushing (V8)
Clutch disc- 1" 14 spline hub 10.4" diameter, summit racing has it, advance adapters is the brand.
Clutch inspection cover (V8)
Hydraulics, pedals, shifter, torque arm mount and vss remained the same.

Re: 60* to 90* tranny...
i was wondering if there is a adapter plate that will adapt a 60* to a 90*
because what im wanting to is take a 4.3l and put in place of my 3.1l
i know the transmissons wont bolt up...but i want to keep my tranny it
is good working order so i was wanting to know if there is a adapter plate
that i can mount my 3.1 tranny to a 4.3l motor

my tranny is a 700R4 by the way, the reason i dont want to change it is, its got a shift kit, high pressure shift soilide, and rebuilt
